07/15/18 1 Corinthians 10:1-13 Pt. 2 The Process of Salvation: Israel as a type
The widely taught believe based off of Romans 8:11, believe in your heart and confess with your mouth doesn’t seem to quite capture the reality of walking with God through life. It is a painful process full of ups and downs, twists and turns, much like the process of Israels salvation. The process of slavery in Egypt, freedom through the red sea, new life, new hopes, and new opportunities. Much like the wandering of the Israelite’s, we also face wilderness periods, and times on the holy mount with God. What does this say about our salvation? It is not a one time event, it is a journey. For those who think they are saved merely because they have checked off all the steps, and covered the basics, what if your missing out on the beauty of salvation? What if you’re condemning yourself for not having everything down yet, while in reality, you are still on the journey? When we put things into perspective we begin to see how graceful God is, how tremendously perplexing and beautiful His plan for us really is.
Grab a coffee, plug in your headphones, and take a break, hear these words of comfort, take a breather, and let the Holy Spirit minister to your heart in the midst of your busy life.
